Nick works part-time for the church as Worship Director and spends the rest of his day as full-time dad to his pre-school son, Drew. Nick leads the praise band at WCUMC and joined the staff in September of 2005. He has been playing guitar since he was ten years old. A Pacific Northwest native, he grew up in eastern Washington and attended college in Eugene, Oregon where he received a BA in Music, Psychology, and Ministry from Northwest Christian College and completed a semester program at the Contemporary Music Center on Martha?s Vineyard in Massachusetts. After graduation Nick worked at a hippie coffee shop in Eugene and taught guitar lessons while his wife Megan finished her teaching degree. The couple moved to the Oregon coast where Nick worked part-time as an audio engineer and stayed at home to raise their new baby. After six years in Oregon they were ready to move back to Washington to be closer to family. Nick most intensely feels the presence of God through music, the outdoors, and being in the company of friends. He enjoys hiking, mountain biking, mildly obscure rock and roll, independent films, public radio, and books on culture and theology. In his spare time he also likes to follow Oregon Ducks basketball and Seattle Mariners baseball. Nick loves living in the Puget Sound area, drinking organic/fair-trade/shade grown coffee, watching a game at Safeco Field and taking his son to the Woodland Park Zoo.
