The Harvest

Sunday, October 25, 2009

On Sunday evening, Dr. Wes Griffin capped our 5-Day Global Impact Celebration with a heartfelt message from Matthew which tells how Jesus instructed his disciples to spread the good news.

Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds he had compassion on them because they were harassed and helpless like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to this disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
Matthew 9:35-38

Dr. Griffin shared personal stories from ILI mission workshops in which ordinary people were able to accomplish extraordinary things through their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. He reminded us that we are all missionaries and that the whole world is our mission field. No matter how insignificant and unimportant we may think we are, we can all contribute to the harvest when we trust in God's power and step out in faith.
