Scripture:  Mark 14:32-42

Jesus felt the anguish of being betrayed and deserted. Those closest to Him left Him, but He trusted in God

In the Garden of Gethsemane (means "Olive Press"), Jesus dealt with the Tempter again.

Jesus prayed to His Father, "take this cup from me. Yet not what  Iwill, but what you will."

Jesus kept his focus on His purpose . . . the Cross.  And we are called to keep that same focus on God's will, not ours. 

Pastor Rick shared this special prayer from John Wesley to help us remember:

A Prayer

I am no longer my own, but thine.

Put me to what you will.

Rank me with whom you will.

Put me to doing;

Put me to suffering.

Let me be employed for thee

or laid aside for thee,

exalted for thee or brought low for thee.

Let me be full, or let me be empty.

Let me have all things

or let me have nothing.

I freely and heartily yield all things

to thy pleasure and disposal.

Amen.
