Our Mission to Disciple the Nations

Sunday, October 17, 2010

The Great Commission directs us to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the end of the age". Matthew 28 19-20

  • The Great Commission calls us to bring entire nations under Christ's authority.
  • We are instructed by Christ to make disciples wherever they are, living in total devotion to God through a lifestyle of worshiping God.
  • Personal salvation is the essential starting point for making disciples of all nations. " ... no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." John 3:3.
  • We are all sons of God through our faith in Jesus Christ, and through that faith we have been clothed with Christ.
  • Since we are clothed with Christ, we can have confidence that He is with us, empowering us to fulfill His Great Commission. "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8.
