God is Self-Sacrificing

The death of Jesus is central to Christian Theology. But why did He have to die for us?
False Narrative: We work our way to God
Jesus' Narrative: God works His way to us.
God risked not being loved in return.
God experienced the pain of unrequited love.
The Paradox of Self-Sacrifice: By emptying and humbling Himself and becoming obedient, Jesus was "highly exalted".
Jesus did not have to die, Jesus chose to die.
He did for us what we could never do for ourselves.
