"...From infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation, through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:15,16
The mission of the Children’s Ministries at Woodinville Community United Methodist Church is to support families by providing children opportunities for Christian fellowship and Bible based teaching as they come to know Christ and grow in their personal relationship with Him. We recognize that parents are primarily responsible for a child’s spiritual growth and development. While children are in our care, we want to provide a safe and fun atmosphere that encourages spiritual growth on a biblical foundation. Our goal is to teach kids how and why we worship, the importance of being a servant, and to equip kids for ministry and outreach in their schools and communities.

We utilize the Workshop Rotation Method (or WoRM) to teach children about Jesus and to give them a strong foundation in the Bible.
What is Workshop Rotation Sunday School?
Children experience the biblical stories and theological concepts in multiple week unit workshops. Each unit is based on one story or concept and the goal is in-depth knowledge and nurturing of faith.
Children journey deeper in to the questions of "why" and "how." Workshop Rotation, also called multidimensional learning uses the spiritual gifts and talents of many adult members, rather than a few. Teachers may sign up to teach workshops that would use their individual interests and gifts.
Some of our multi-dimensional learning workshops are: Storytelling, Bible Skills, Art, Cooking, Music and Movement, Drama, Science and Computer.
We remember:
10% of what we read,
20% of what we hear,
70% of what we say,
90% of what we say and do - and 90+% of what we experience.
Experiencing the lessons of the Christian faith through different learning modalities, which educational specialists call "multi-intelligences" or "multi-dimensional learning," results in better retention of knowledge.

Safe Sanctuaries Policy
When the disciples tried to keep the children away from Jesus, he was quick to respond, “Let the children come to me.” Jesus taught that children were to be included and provided for within the community of faith. Today, the church may be the only place where some children find the unconditional love and care they so desperately need to grow and thrive.
Therefore, as a covenanted Christian community of faith, it is the purpose of Woodinville Community United Methodist Church to conduct all events in ways that promote the safety and spiritual growth of all of our youth/children/vulnerable adults, as well as all of the workers with youth/children who also participate in all church events.
