Children

"...From infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation, through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."  2 Timothy 3:15,16

The mission of the Children’s Ministries at Woodinville Community United Methodist Church is to support families by providing children opportunities for Christian fellowship and Bible based teaching as they come to know Christ and grow in their personal relationship with Him. We recognize that parents are primarily responsible for a child’s spiritual growth and development.

While children are in our care, we want to provide a safe and fun atmosphere that encourages spiritual growth on a biblical foundation. Our goal is to teach kids how and why we worship, the importance of being a servant, and to equip kids for ministry and outreach in their schools and communities.

Class Information

Welcome to God's Big Backyard!

We look forward to meeting your family.

Please enter through the Children's Ministry entrance on the south side of the buidlng and check in your child(ren), making sure to get a guardian tag and nametags. Check-in begins at 10 am each morning to allow families time to fellowship and get settled for the service that begins at 10:30 am.  We use KidCheck secure check-in.  Parents may want to set up a free account and register their children prior to arriving at Woodinville Community United Methodist Church to expedite the check-in process.

Following check-in families proceed to the sanctuary (stopping by the Gathering Place for coffee, juice, or a little breakfast!).  While children of all ages are always welcome in our worship services, sometimes infants and toddlers are more comfortable staying in the nursery.  In that case, Katie will be happy to greet you and provide excellent care for your little one.  After the Children's Sermon, pre-schoolers and elementary age children will be escorted by their teachers and leaders to age-appropriate programming for the rest of the worship service.  Parents are welcome to venture back to the classrooms and check on their children at any time through the one-way window/mirrors.

Safe Sanctuaries Policy
When the disciples tried to keep the children away from Jesus, he was quick to respond, “Let the children come to me.” Jesus taught that children were to be included and provided for within the community of faith. Today, the church may be the only place where some children find the unconditional love and care they so desperately need to grow and thrive. Therefore, as a covenanted Christian community of faith, it is the purpose of Woodinville Community United Methodist Church to conduct all events in ways that promote the safety and spiritual growth of all of our youth/children/vulnerable adults, as well as all of the workers with youth/children who also participate in all church events.
