Epiphany means "manifestion" -- the demonstration of God in Jesus Christ.
It originally focused on the nativity, incarnation, and the baptism of Jesus.
Epiphany, especially in the West, celebrates the event of the coming of the Wise Men (the Magi) who brought gifts to the Christ child.
God manifested Himself through Jesus Christ to the gentile world, fulfilling the promise of Genesis 12:2-3.
