Scripture:  Matthew 2:1-12 - The Story of the Wise Men

Epiphany means "manifestation." It refers particularly to the manifestation (or the demonstration) of God in Jesus Christ. 

The story of the Magi shows the amazing, unconditional love that God has for all people, Jews and Gentiles, believers and non-believers.

In Matthew 2:1-12, we see three different responses to the coming of Christ into the world:

1. King Herod's reaction - jealousy, self-centeredness and hatred.
2. The Chief Priests and teachers of the law chose to ignore the coming of Christ into their world.
3. The Magi's response - wonder, praise, worship and commitment.
